Anger Management Counselling

A Structured, evidence-based approach guided by a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II)

AMC: Anger Management Counselling Program

Understanding the Goal Anger is a normal, healthy emotion when you know how to express it appropriately—anger management is simply about learning how to do this. The AMC program focuses on learning to recognize the signs that you are becoming angry and taking action to calm down and deal with the situation in a productive way.

Professional Guidance (CAMS-II) Your Certified Anger Management Specialist, Level II (CAMS-II) will assist and guide you in learning specific behavioral skills and new ways of thinking to cope with anger. This is done using evidence-based and clinically proven practices from the National Anger Management Association’s (NAMA) approved material.

Note: A CAMS-II is a professional thoroughly trained to work with complex anger management issues. These services are not traditional psychotherapy; rather, they are a specialized combination of insights from various psychological traditions requiring specific training in anger management skills, concepts, and techniques.

Frequency & Duration of Treatment The program is structured around a 12-lesson workbook, covering 2 lessons per session for a total of 6 sessions.

  • Session Length: Approximately 50 minutes.

  • Frequency: Once to twice weekly.

  • Homework: Assigned to complete between sessions to reinforce skills.

Program Completion Upon successful completion of the program, a Certificate of Completion will be issued along with a descriptive letter confirming your participation and progress.

How We Create Change

Change starts with being honest with yourself. We help you identify the ‘dysfunctional thought patterns’ and justifications that keep you stuck, empowering you to accept responsibility for your actions without shame.

Recovery happens between sessions. We use evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) principles to give you concrete tasks, like ‘Time Outs’ and empathy exercises, to practice in your daily life.

Whether it’s substance use or impulsive reactions, we work to interrupt the cycle. You will learn to spot the early warning signs of emotional loss of control and choose a safer, healthier response.

Addiction and conflict damage relationships. We focus on empathy development and consistent, safe behavior to help you repair the past and build a future where you and your loved ones feel secure.
